Since 2013 we have launched and scaled more than 200 digital ventures across Europe, USA, Asia Pacific and Africa. In addition to our cool headquarters in Amsterdam, we have offices in Italy, USA, Australia, South Africa. Together with Startupbootcamp and The Talent Institute we form the We Empower Innovators (WEI) ecosystem. We serve many leading national and international companies -with a strong focus on FMCG/CPG and Retail, followed by Energy and Financial Services- by helping them ideate, validate, bring to market and scale strategic innovations, business models and disruptive products.

Our starting point is the Boardroom and the engagement with the C-suite; only when innovation strategies are clear, resources are allocated and a proper governance (“Venture Board”) is set, from there we jointly take the lead in bringing the strategic innovation priorities into real business based on the Innoleaps Growth Engine model. We have a proven track record with renowned corporations such as Philips, Nestlé, FrieslandCampina, Unilever, Spar, Shell, ING, Rabobank.

To fuel our growth ambitions in our Italian Office - which opened in 2019 and is rapidly expanding- we are looking to hire a Lead Venture Builder.

What will you do?

Working at Innoleaps, you will have the unique opportunity to contribute to our diverse portfolio from Corporate Accelerator Programmes, Battles and Scale-up programmes to Executive Board sessions. We build and scale corporate ventures with an entrepreneurial mindset.

As a Lead Venture Builder you will work closely with corporate startup teams to unlock new growth opportunities and products. Activities include:

Lead an agile startup team for business impact

  • You lead your corporate startups teams to turn an opportunity space into a real product within 10-22 weeks or beyond (scaling)
  • You are in the driving seat of creating clear milestones, validation strategy and rhythm following the Lean Startup methodology and tools, and coaching the client team to learn and embrace the Lean mindset, skillset and toolset
  • You challenge and empower the corporate startup team to think bigger and beyond their traditional channels and formats.
  • You ensure the team hits the milestones with speed and quality.
  • You manage team dynamics to achieve impactful results

Practice and preach Lean Startup to build a scalable ventures:

  • You present Lead Startup principles in compelling workshops and pair it with direct application
  • You are able to balance the daily priorities with the ultimate goal of building a scalable and profitable business proposition.
  • You build and prioritise G2M strategies in retail and e-retail (D2C/e-commerce)

Ground yourself in the Consumer needs and journey

  • You are the expert in quantitative and qualitative consumer research. You know how to carry out interviews, surveys. You can identify Jobs to be done, create personas etc.
  • You link new consumer insights to a tangible business impact.
  • You advocate for pivoting where needed guided by the data.

Your mission: As a Lead Venture Builder you will work closely with corporate startup teams to ideate, validate, prototype, launch and scale new growth opportunities and innovative products and service models

What are we looking for?

  • You are entrepreneurial and experienced in building/managing teams (able to effectively manage team dynamics)
  • You are an excellent communicator, able to present/pitch in clear terms and a compelling way towards your audience.
  • You are an excellent stakeholder manager (patient, able to listen, show empathy, or push the boundaries, create some tension and push things forward)
  • You are comfortable with having difficult conversations
  • You are highly organised and know how to prioritise.
  • You are flexible and adaptable. You like working in pressure cooker projects and know how to mix a corporate and start-up mindset.
  • You are fluent in the Lean Startup toolbox, Agile Scrum and Design Thinking. You know when to use which tool and canvas (CusDev / MVP Validation / Financial Modelling & Forecasting /Fundraising)
  • You are fluent in English & Italian.
  • You are a great team player, but also able to work on projects independently.
  • You have 7+ years of experience in E-commerce, Innovation consulting or Startups.
  • You have a successful track record of building new products from zero to one and leading teams towards success.
  • FMCG experience is a plus.
